The Living Soul

Do we have a soul? The nature of a "living soul" is about what man is., the word "soul" denotes something that is immortal and conscious after death.

Cultures down through the ages felt there is some sort of spiritual essence in us that goes beyond the physical body and mind, the spiritual essence is usually called the soul. Most people believe we have individual spirits or souls, others believe we are part of a larger universal soul, the larger force or spirit is usually called God.

The concept of our soul is different in many religions. Is a soul created for us at birth or is it possible that a person exists as a spirit before the soul is assigned us. We often wonder where our soul is located in us. I like WikiAnswer the best.
WikiAnswers===Your soul is our conscience, it is energy which has no form or location. This energy is part of the whole universe. The meaning of life is so evolved in your conscience to a higher consciousness which is the source of all existence.

This was fun to post, I know everyone thinks of their soul through out their life at one time or other. I for one believe we have a soul and I think this is what is called upon on judgment day.

My aunt, who had a near death experience tells me she truly believes in our soul moving on because she has been on the other side. I don't know if she was just delirious, but she swears by it.

I completely believe in this ...grown up reading Mahabhagwad Gita which says that 'The soul can never be cut into pieces by any weapon, nor can he be burned by fire, nor moistened by water, nor withered by the wind. This individual soul is unbreakable and insoluble, and can be neither burned nor dried. He is everlasting, all-pervading, unchangeable, immovable and eternally the same. It is said that the soul is invisible, inconceivable, immutable, and unchangeable. Knowing this, you should not grieve for the body.'
Wonderful post !

I'm so glad you posted this interesting segment, Margaret, as you know about me that I am ALWAYS thinking towards our souls and wondering what life is about. That being written, I also have a steadfast faith in the eternal God and thus the eternal soul. I don't want to give the impression when I question, that my faith is anything other than that, because it is indeed strong. I find it more curious that there are those who never question the mystery of life.... that, to me, is suspicious and odd. :o)

Blessings to you and thanks again. Your words bring comfort.

I truly believe we have a soul that leaves the physical body when we die. I am reading a book called "Hello from Heaven". It is filled with experiences where people are contacted by deceased loved ones through dreams or other methods. I think if you are open to it there are many signs from our loved ones that they are still around us in spirit.

Certainly gives one something to think about. I know I have heard people say, living soul, and also use the dead soul phrase. What ever there might be, I'm hoping there is another level, peaceful and beautiful. Hope you two have been having a wonderful week-end.

I have heard the "Soul" is the breath of life that one gulps in and begins to cry. It separates us from the fluid and spiritual and gives us a reason to walk around get up and love.

I am reading a good book. Biocentrism. It explains things I have always wondered about.'

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody is there to hear it does it make any sounds?

People have always told me it does.

Biocentrism explain that is doesn't make any sound. Sound isn't there unless there is an eardrum designed to hear it. Or unless the person is standing there and sees and hears it fall. If he turns his back as the tree begins to fall then one never knows for sure if it finishing falling and if it made any sounds or not.
