Dreams!

I posted about dreams before, but, have been having some disturbing ones lately, so decided to re-do it.

Dreams, some think they come from our soul and intend to help you process along your life path, your subconscious never sleeps. Most of us allow our subconscious free reign in many areas of our life.

Most people have three to five dreams a night, during an eight hour sleep, at least two hours are spent dreaming. Researchers have shown that all human beings dream, the study shows brain activity during their sleep. Dreams often reflect our experiences and life concerns. Children's dreams are different than the adult dreams. Is it possible to experience death in our dreams? This will often occur as a result of great stress, caused by relationships, school, career changes, depression, or the on coming death of a loved one, or a sudden death in the family.

Many who dream that they are falling sometimes jerk or twitch their arms or legs and you may even wake yourself up. Sometimes dreams are so real that the brain believes that we are really falling or you are in some sort of danger and hence the brain sends signals to the body to flee.

If you have ever had a nightmare, you are not the only one. A;most everyone gets them once in a while, nightmares are bad dreams, it can make you feel scared, anxious, or upset, but these dreams can't hurt you.

While we sleep our brain does not shut off, it goes through several stages, including rapid eye movement During this sleep your eyes move back and forth under your eye lids and sometimes during these dreams they can be very scary, if you wake during this cycle it is easier to remember what you were dreaming about. Your most vivid dreams and nightmares occur in the early morning hours.

There is no scientific proof that dreams can predict or for see the future Some dreams that re-occur or repeat could be an indication that we have issues not resolved or confronted. Some people say they dream in color, this could be, because color is such a natural part of our visual experience.

Isn't this interesting? I rarely remember my dreams, but I do sometimes jerk awake as though I was tripping over something, and remember one where I was riding a bicycle and fell off, and jerked awake as though I had landed on the ground. Thanks Margaret, great post.

Great post Margaret! It seems I dream a lot and quite often remember them. I don't like disturbing dreams and have awakened crying before. :( I used to have this recurring dream where I was on a train, looking out the window and my childhood home kept passing by. But haven't dreamed it in years. ~~

Very Interesting .Recently i had a guest at my house who is an Episcopal priest in Little Rock. She is doing a lot of work in helping people working with their dreams as way to listening to their consciousness.
I dream a lot and i remember them vividly.

I don't remember my dreams much anymore. I have had the falling ones before, quite a long time ago. When I did remember my dreams, it was in my childhood. It seems like I remember the moods of my dreams more than what I dreamt.

Your post on Tornando Alley was most interesting.

Dear Margaret ~ Interesting article about
dreams. I never remember mine. Thanks for your visit to my blog. I am going OK and I am glad you enjoyed the jokes especially the mammogram one and the Grannys. They were cheeky old girls weren't they? I hope your husband is doing well Margaret.
Take care my friend, Love, Merle.

I dream a lot.

I once dreamed I kicked Patty out of bed. And then I woke up when she said, sitting on the floor, "What did you do that for?"

I always find this so interesting. I believe God speaks to us sometimes through dreams, but that most of the time, they are just a combination of thoughts/images that we've had throughout the day.

I don't usually remember my dreams, I don't know why. But some mornings when I wake up I feel very upset and mad, but not sure why. The other morning I tried to go back to sleep after waking around 5:10am, and fell asleep for just a short time, but remember the dream quite well. When I woke up I was really angry with Abe and I even told him to leave, in my dream and that's when I woke up. LOL Perhaps I was upset with him, because he knew I didn't want another dog, but he preceded to get one last week. He knows he can't care for it, so that means it's something else I will be doing. Thanks goodness, Daughter and Granddaughter living with us at the moment have been helping take him out doors. And so far, he's been a wonderful little fella. More later. Hope all is well at your house.

This is a very interesting post, Margaret. I'm sorry you've had some unpleasant dreams lately. I hope it's not reflecting something you're worried about.

I usually don't remember my dreams and I don't even know if I dream in color. My mother still has post traumatic dreams from her young life. It's hard. It never goes away.

Just so interesting Margaret.
Just so we remember the not so pleasant ones are just that, dreams.
It's still hot here, and we had about 20 rain drops last night. Didn't help at all.
Have a good rest of the weekend.

Dreams have always fascinated me. I have such vivid ones that I sometimes wake up crying or screaming or am so involved in the dream that I don't know where I am when I wake up. It is scorching here with 94% humidity this morning. We have a chance for rain today. I so hope we get it. Have a good week.
