The Great Adventure

This started out to be one of those muggy, rainy Saturdays but turned out to be a scary adventure, that ended on a happy note.

Sarah had tied out her new puppy (Jackson) to do his business and because it was raining he wanted right back in. She let him in but did not shut the door all the way. Jackson was put in the bedroom, because the Ferrets were running in the house.

Ron (Sarah s dad) said he felt fresh air in the kitchen and realized he had shut all the windows because it was raining. He quickly went to the entrance porch and discovered the door to the outside open. He panicked when they looked for the Ferrets and did not find them.

The hunt for them outside began. Sarah started to call Gibson and saw him peek his head out from under the back steps, he scares easy and sought the saftey of the steps. One found, but where was Logan, our adventurous one.

Sarah went down the road looking and Ron choose to look around our house and the neighbors next door. Ron did not find him in our yard but feared he might of went down the back bank into the woods. Ron went next door and around his back yard, he noticed our neighbors basement door open a little. He went in and turned on the light and low and behold Logan was right down by his shoes. Remember Logan did not like the rain and probably was trying to find a way out of it.

We thank the good Lord for their safe return. But what were our chances of finding them both or just one, whew. They are now back safe in their cage and ready for a good nap.

Well that was an adventure for the ferrets. I bet they were glad to be back in their cages, in their security blankets. They were probably more afraid than you all were.

I am so pleased you found them both,
I recall many years ago we lost out cat Tabitha, it was an Easter time and we looked high and low for her, As our house backed on to the local school I asked the janitor if he had seen her(She was quite well known there as she would join school asembly) he replied no. I persisted he looked around, my husband was calling her name.......then a faint me-ow could be heard, She had been "Locked" in the boiler room, the janitor opend the door she flew into our arms. our world complete .......but what a mess we had to clean up.

Quite an adventure for sure!! I'm so glad they're okay.

Our Winston cat had a similar adventure earlier in the summer when we were hosting a party and he got out of the house and we didn't notice. Our daughter (here from Canada) found him wandering along the front sidewalk and carried him in asking if this was our cat (because she didn't want to bring in a neighborhood cat, and she knew that Winston never goes outside - he is strictly an indoor cat). Well, it was Winston, who had walked out with some people through the screen door of the garage. Luckily, he didn't go far (he doesn't have claws), and he was quite happy to be back inside where there is his food and water. He's a big baby who is very much an indoor cat. :)

I am constantly worried that Pepper Jax will dig out or go through some imagined hole under the fence and be gone before we can reach him. He does know his name, "Pepper," when we call or say it but he has a mind of his own when it comes to getting him back in the house. It usually takes some bribery in the treat box or a squeaking toy rattled like a maniac to do the trick.

Am glad the ferrets are OK.

So happy they are back home safe and happy. I know that gave you such a scare. Hope things are going well otherwise. Thanks for coming by my place, too.

That had to be a little scary. So happy you both were found and were okay. Yes with pets around we have to make sure the doors are shut tightly.

Hello and thank you for stopping by my blog to say hi. I would say you were very lucky to have found Logan and Gibson, when animals get scared we don't know where or when they will leave and get lost and we love our pets and don't want anything to happen to them. Thank the good Lord you found them. Blessings...Lu

We are so thankful that the both ferrets were found safe and sound. Yes, that was a scary saturday. Enjoyed your "Life in a Nutshell." Yep, remembered them good old days. Sure wish I could have seen an Elvis show though.

That was a frightening story Margaret, and I'm so glad you found them. I know how it is when a pet gets loose. You always fear the worse. Take care.
